Maureen FitzSimons' early achievements in performing arts (now known as Maureen O'Hara), would put her in America's eyes, into the child prodigy category. These traits were natural to a person born in Ireland. by talented parents and a loving, supportive family. Maureen joined this wonderful haven located in Ranelagh, Ireland on August 17th, 1920. Marguerita Lea. FitzSimons had a successful contralto. Charles FitzSimons managed a Dublin-based company and was the owner of a portion in "The Shamrock Rovers" famous Irish soccer team. Maureen was the third of six FitzSimons children. Peggy, Florrie, Charles B. Fitzsimons, Margot Fitzsimons and James O'Hara completed this beautiful family. Maureen was an athletic natural and loved playing sports. Her passion was coupled with the natural ability to perform. As evidenced by receiving nearly every Feis award for drama and theatrical performing her country offered. She was accepted at the Abbey Theater by age 14, and she pursued her dreams of operatic and classical singing and theater.
